On 1st and 2nd February 2017, the Pharmapack Europe Exhibition brought the healthcare industry together at Porte de Versailles in Paris. This year, ARaymondlife* chose to present RayDyLyo with nested vials, a ready-to-use solution.
Dedicated to packaging innovations and drug delivery technologies, Pharmapack is a key event in the healthcare industry. The 2017 event was memorable for the employees and partners of ARaymondlife. Firstly, it was an opportunity for the new management team – Chairman Alain-François Raymond and CEO Nicolas Thivant – to mix with their employees and develop special relationships with their partners and business prospects over the two days.
This year, a new booth, specially designed for the occasion, attracted many visitors for a big attraction: the presentation of RayDyLyo with nested vials. Indeed, RayDyLyo can be delivered by itself or with a pre-assembled stopper in the cap, but also in with nested vials. ‘RayDyLyo was designed to include standardised stoppers from most manufacturers and for different formulations. The advantage of the in-nest configuration is that components can be delivered ready to use and gamma-sterilised,’ explains Stéphanie Pellet, ARaymondlife marketing manager. ‘We worked with two partners to develop a ready-to-use (RTU), in-nest offering.’
ARaymondlife offers the RayDyLyo nested caps, which are fully compatible with the nest of adaptiQ® glass vials designed by the primary packaging specialist Schott. ‘The in-nest configuration enables working in a fully-automated isolator. The vials are filled and sealed at the same time without being removed from their tub,’ says Stéphanie Pellet. The Vancouver-based company Vanrx Pharmasystems developed the automated isolator. Schott and Vanrx are partners for ARaymondlife within the ‘Matrix Alliance’, whose objective is to accelerate bringing comprehensive, innovative solutions to market in the area of sterile filling.
More flexibility and speed in sterile conditions
This RTU solution is unique: it guarantees the sterility and repeatability of manufacturing conditions. It provides more flexibility – you can easily change medications between two production cycles – and it is a clear time-saver. The solution guarantees sterile filling of vials without requiring a human presence. The fact that the vials are in tubs prevents the risk of friction, and thus of breakage. ‘We are in the process of starting to sell our solution. We are working with Big Pharma, but also with companies that need small or medium-sized batches, such as for the first clinical batches or first rounds of production. Our customers are, for example, biotech companies that need to produce highly valuable medicines within short periods of time.’
RayDyLyo is offered in this nest format with a 20 mm diameter for vials 6 to 15 R. Over this year, ARaymondlife will be able to offer a 13 mm diameter for vials 2 and 4 R in order to cover the two standard formats for the market.
A last bit of good news: the ARaymondlife booth has already been reserved for the 2018 Pharmapack!
